Team messages, groups, and channels

Messages is where your team talks. Open it from the sidebar and choose New conversation.

Three kinds of conversation

• Direct message: one to one with a teammate. End to end encrypted when both of you have encryption set up.
• Group: a chat for a team, like field leads or the press shop. Everyone in it can post.
• Broadcast channel: announcements. Only admins post; everyone you add can read and react. Leave people unselected to include the whole workspace.

In a conversation

• Reply to a specific message, edit or delete your own, and react.
• Share photos and files up to 20 MB.
• See who is typing, and mute a conversation you do not need alerts for.
• Search chats and messages from the box at the top of the list.

Volunteers can use Messages too, so you can reach your field team in the same place.
